The D4 Pro caught our attention as a promising upgrade to the Kingslim D4 4K, its predecessor. With 4K resolution for the front camera and 2K for the rear, the clarity of the footage captured is impressive.
After using it for over a month, we want to share our experience & talk about what we liked or didn’t like about the Kingslim D4 Pro… let’s get into it.

Our Experience With Kingslim D4PRO
Flexible Dual Channel Recording
Our experience with the Kingslim D4 Pro dual dash cam showed us that it’s a versatile and high-quality option. The dual setup means there’s two cameras to record stunning details… 4K at the front & 2K in back.

The D4Pro has a frontal field-of-view (FOV) of 170° & rear FOV of 150°. It helps piece together road events that happen around your car instead of only in front of you.
The rotatable front lens easily swivels from recording out of the front windshield to recording the car interior.
The rotation is perfect during encounters with law enforcement for hard evidence. It’s also great for ride-share drivers who want proof when passengers get too rowdy.
Hight Video Quality & Super Night Vision
In our experience with the Kingslim D4Pro, the night vision capability stands out for its clarity. The Sony image sensors paired with 6-layer glass lenses make a significant difference in low-light conditions, capturing details that other dash cams might miss.
One thing we noticed is that during night drives, the quality doesn’t drop as much as you’d expect from many dash cams, suggesting that Kingslim’s night vision capabilities are way more than a marketing gimmick. We noticed (on a couple occasions) that very bright weather leads to overexposure in footage.
The HDR on the front and rear camera make sure light levels are balanced within the frame. The D4Pro’s Sony sensor greatly enhances night vision. It’s most noticeable while capturing license plates in low-light conditions.
If you’re relying on the interior recording feature at night, additional lighting might be necessary to maintain the same detail level. While it’s not a big deal for most, it’s something to keep in mind.
There’s not a lot of dash cams that can capture high-quality interior footage in the dark (without any outside help from add-ons).
What We Didn’t Like
Despite its strengths – the Kingslim D4 Pro still has some questionable aspects. Even though it’s a definite improvement over the original model (Kingslim D4 4k), the main feature upgrades feel more incremental than revolutionary.
The front camera’s higher frame rate compared to the second camera is noticeable and can be a bit jarring when looking at footage from both cameras at the same time. The front and rear differences are noticeable side-by-side, even to the untrained eye.
The windscreen mounts adjustability is also somewhat limited. Having more flexibility in positioning would’ve been a massive positive signal for us… mostly to reduce glare & reflections that impact video quality.
Takeaway: The D4 Pro’s footage saving system separates both camera angles footage into their own files, which took getting used to.
It wasn’t a big deal for us to change our habits… but non-technical dash cam users might have trouble organizing files (across two camera feeds) hard to manage.
Kingslim D4 Pro vs Redtiger F7N

The D4Pro is sometimes compared to the F7N dash cam due to some similarities in recording capabilities. We’ve tried both… each has its own strengths & weaknesses.
While the D4Pro didn’t make our top parking mode dash cam list, it outperformed the F7N in other ways. Let’s quickly go over what we noticed as the primary differences.
Video Resolution
The Kingslim D4 Pro has a front camera gives high-resolution footage and can capture QHD details like road signs & license plates.
The F7N uses 1080p dual video from the front camera and 720p from the rear camera. While the F7N provides good quality footage, the D4 Pro’s higher resolution offers more detailed and clearer images, especially when capturing QHD details.
Night Vision Capabilities
Both dash cams are great in low-light environments. The Kingslim D4 Pro has a Sony sensor, which makes it effective in capturing clear images during night drives.
The F7N has night vision too though. Its HDR technology adjusts exposure automatically for clarity in challenging lighting conditions. We think the two dash cams tie in this department.
Design & Additional Features
The two dash cameras tie in this respect. The F7N is known for its sleek, compact design and is considered a more affordable option with features like loop recording and Google Maps integration.
The Kingslim D4 Pro has a touch screen interface for intuitive control and a parking monitor feature for added security when the vehicle is parked. Read our full review of the Redtiger F7N here for more details.
Final Verdict
After using the Kingslim D4 Pro for a month & applying our standard rating methodologies, we’re giving it a 4.5 out of 5 star rating.
The video quality of the Kingslim D4 Pro is exceptional. The high level of video detail isn’t just important for everyday recording, it’s 10x more important in the unfortunate event of an accident.
The Wi-Fi connectivity allows for easy video transfer & remote viewing, while the inclusion of a mini USB port makes for easy power connectivity. The user-friendly touch screen makes adjusting settings on the go a breeze.
Takeaway: It’s clear to us that the D4Pro has the potential to be the difference-maker in tough road situations. Overall, we’re impressed and look forward to trying out more Kingslim products in the future.
