Immediately upon taking it out of the box I could tell the Redtiger T700 isn’t your average rearview mirror backup camera. The design is sleek and the minute it was installed – it added a different kind of aesthetic to my cars interior.
From the 4K UHD front and 1080p rear mirror camera to the smart parking assistance, driving with the Redtiger T700 on my windshield was super enjoyable. Without further delay, let’s get into my experience after using the T700 mirror dash cam for one month.

My Experience with the T700 Rear View Dash Cam
Straight off the bat I want to say my experience with the Redtiger T700 Mirror dash cam has exceeded any other traditional rear view mirror camera I’ve used, except maybe the Redtiger T27.
During the night, its super night vision comes alive, capturing crystal clear footage even in the darkest environments. Then there’s the little bonus: it comes with a free 32GB card.
Installation Difficulty
One of the standout experiences I had with the Redtiger T700 mirror camera was its ease of installation. I’m no mechanic but setting up this dash cam felt like child’s play. The mirror was conveniently mounted over my existing one using bungee straps, and the cables for power and the rear camera connected seamlessly.
Running the rear wire was equally simple. The Redtiger dash cam box included just the right amount of wire necessary for a snug fit. As someone who values a clean aesthetic, I appreciated this attention to detail.
Takeaway: In less than two hours I was able to get the entire setup installed and hooked up to the red tiger dash cam phone app, showcasing how user-friendly the design is.
Rearview Mirror Camera Performance
Once I hit the road, the Redtiger T700 mirror dash cam proved to be a valuable addition to my car. The dual channel recording, both on front and rear cameras was great – even though the front camera’s 4K and rear dash cam is 1080p, I hardly noticed a difference in quality during video playback. The best part was that they sync’d up automatically. The dash cams wide angle lens & HDR technology ensures other vehicle number plates were easy to read, for both cars in front of me and behind.
The live feed from the rear camera was especially helpful changing lanes on highways and, of course, in tricky parking situations. It’s designed to help capture video evidence of rear end collisions but also for parking assistance. Without a doubt in my mind, the T700 rear view mirror is better than an ordinary rearview mirror.
Parking Monitor Functions
The smart reverse parking assistance was another highlight, particularly with the adjustable reversing aid line. It eliminated all the guesswork from parking, making it a breeze even in the tightest spots. With an external GPS tracking plugin, I was able to have my speed and direction right in the rear view mirror screen.
Safety Features
The IR night vision on the Redtiger T700 was a revelation. It made me feel like driving in low-light environments was less stressful. Combined with the G-Sensor, which automatically records and saves videos during sudden shakes or collisions, I felt more secure than ever before on my late-night drives.

Of course, it’s not all smooth sailing – no product is perfect, right? But even with its minor hiccups like needing a separate purchase for the dedicated hardwire kit or the occasional hiccup with customer service, the Redtiger T700 stands strong as an impressive contender in the dash cam market.
Another thing I didn’t like was I wasn’t able to use parking mode surveillance without their dedicated T700 hardwire kit (upsell). It’s only $30 but it put a slightly bad taste in my mouth. I would’ve preferred if this was included as part of the initial package, especially because parking monitor functions are important for a lot of dash cam buyers.
Redtiger T27 vs Redtiger T700
Both the T27 and T700 are high-quality mirror cameras sold by Redtiger Dash Cam. They sport similar modern designs that blend into any vehicle’s interior but bring different aspects to the table – let’s look at what sets them apart.
The Redtiger T700 boasts an 11-inch 4K UHD front camera and a 1080p rear mirror camera. This gadget is impressive, streaming real-time road situations directly onto your dashboard. Its super night vision capabilities are also something to behold, providing crisp, clear imaging even in low light environments. If you’re a night owl or often find yourself driving home late, the T700’s superior night vision is a clear winner.
But here’s where the Redtiger T27 steps in the spotlight. Despite its higher price point, the T27 has way better rear dash cam video recordings. Where the T700’s video quality is good, the T27’s is extraordinary. Whether it’s capturing the vibrant colors of a sunset drive or recording an unexpected road incident in crystal clear detail, the T27 beats the T700 every time.
To wrap it up, the Redtiger T700 is an excellent investment for any car owner. If you’re on the lookout for a top-notch mirror dash cam, I’d recommend giving the Redtiger T700 a try, you won’t be disappointed! But if you’re looking for that extra bit of performance, superior video quality, and the convenience of having an all-in-one package, then shelling out a few extra bucks for the Redtiger T27 is worthwhile.

There were a few negatives but the value-for-money relative to competitors is unmatched, the T700 beats other mirror dash cameras in its price range. After testing it for a month, I’m giving it a solid 4 out of 5-star rating using our dash camera testing criteria.
My experience with the Redtiger T700 was primarily positive. It brought together utility, security, and comfort in one package. Despite falling slightly short in some aspects, it outperformed competition. Its high-quality rear camera, easy installation process, and the comprehensive surveillance system made it a joy to use.

I have purchased a T700 installed it in my car. It works fantastic. However we are not able to connect the camera with the redtiger app or UCam app. PLEASE GUIDE US how did you start the wifi in the camera?
